Tree climbing lions are rare in Africa

Tree climbing lions are a rarity in all of Africa, but our trained guides will find them for you on the Ishasha Plains in Queen Elizabeth National Park or in the remote Kidepo Valley National Park.

About 50 of these rare lions spend the day in the fig trees or sausage trees of the savannah, away from the heat and insects.

There are two terrific lodges in the area: the luxury Ishasha Wilderness Camp and the mid-range Ishasha Jungle Lodge. One Village Tours’ clients receive special rates at both.
